Bio major (entomology focused) with 6 years of experience tutoring biology, chemistry, English and writing/reading skills.
I am a senior biology major at New College of Florida. I am primarily interested in entomology and intend to get my master‘s and PhD in the subject and become a field entomologist! I I have maintained a 4.0 GPA throughout high school and college, and I passed the AP English Language and Composition Exam as a freshman in high school. I tutored English throughout high school and have tutored biology and general chemistry during my time in college so far, both as a for-hire personal tutor and as a tutor working for the Quantitative Resource Center (STEM tutoring resource) at NCF. I am also a member of NCF‘s STEM Journal Club as well as a former member of its Quiz Bowl Club. 6 years of private tutoring experience in English and writing skills (all levels), biology (up to college level) and chemistry (up to college-level introductory general chemistry). 4 internships conducted during the past 3 years: two with Marie Selby Botanical Gardens, one with the Entomological Society of Latvia, and one with University of Florida’s entomology department. Currently holding a full-time job at the Flutterby Gardens butterfly farm (Bradenton, FL). I teach two fairly different subjects (biology and English), both of which I am very passionate and knowledgeable about! I am also an avid reader and enjoy many hobbies like playing my violin, taking nature photos, and practicing martial arts.
