Biography

A 5th year in the PhD Social Psychology program at OSU, I have taught undergraduate level classes with an average SEI of 4.8/5. There is no concept (no matter how complicated) that I haven’t been able to explain to someone. With years of experience in fiction writing and public communication, I am able to explain topics in a variety of ways to ensure the material is understood. As a professional teacher for nearly a decade, I have expertise in Psychology, English (fiction and non-fiction), and Statistics. For more information about me along with my credentials, you can go to EverydayPsych.com I started private and group tutoring in 2009 for the Gallagher Learning Institute. In 2012, I graduated summa cum laude with a double degree, and afterward, I continued private and group tutoring for Daybreak Youth Services. In 2015, I received my Masters (from OSU) in Social Psychology, one of the top 5 schools in the world for this discipline. Since 2015, I have been teaching an undergraduate class on scientific writing (course: 2367.01) at OSU as part of students’ second level writing requirement. In addition to these formal positions, I have had my psychology research published in some of the fields’s top journals (e.g., Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin), and as a writer, I have had my stories and essays published in over 20 literary magazines (e.g., The Saturday Evening Post). I have years of experience communicating scientific literature to the public, winning awards for my presentation skills and abilities. My philosophy with teaching and presenting has always been to mix information with entertainment, relying on my ability at storytelling to help communicate difficult topics. Originally from the West Coast (Oregon and California), I’m a laid back guy who simply loves passing on knowledge and helping others succeed.
